History of Ballumbie

Ballumbie Primary School opened in April 2012 as an integral part of the ongoing regeneration of the Whitfield area of Dundee.

Our school brought together three existing establishments (Newfields Primary School, Whitfield Primary School and Whitfield Early Years) to become Ballumbie Primary School and Early Years Centre.

For the first 8 months Ballumbie operated as one school located across the three existing campuses. Once the new building was completed, we all moved in to our new purpose-built school. Below are some pictures from the first day in our new building.
