History of Ballumbie

Ballumbie Primary School was established in August 2011 as an integral part of the ongoing regeneration of the Whitfield area of Dundee. This new school has brought together three existing establishments (Newfields Primary School, Whitfield Primary School and Whitfield Early Years) to become Ballumbie Primary School and Early Years Centre.

For the first 8 months Ballumbie operated as one school located across the three existing campuses. Once the new building was completed, they all moved in to their new purpose-built school in April 2012. Below are some pictures from the first day in our new building.
